- The Malabar Urban Forest has trees with very old age. Based on news in local media, in May 2011, eleven trees were fallen there. This is because the trees is fragile and affected by strong wind. In 2018, two trees were reported fallen at 13.00 GMT+7, where this forest is famous tourism site in Malang. The lack of monitoring of vulnerability of fallen trees in The Malabar Urban Forest can harm visitors. The aim of this study is to identify and evaluate potentially fallen trees in The Malabar Urban Forest Area and to know the distribution of potentially fallen trees. Urban forest is an open space covered by woody vegetation in urban areas that benefit the environment as much as population of the city in terms of protection, aesthetics, recreation, and so on (Fakuara, 1986). The data is collected by observing potentially fallen trees with 3 criteria, damage by pest and disease (1); mechanical damage (2); and technical damage (3). This research is located in The Malabar Urban Forest. The data is analyze using Grey and Deneke (1978) methods. The result show that there were 48 trees is damaged. Forty six trees is damaged by pest and disease; mechanical and technical. Two other trees is already died and recommended to be cut down.
