- Media is a tool or aids used as delivering material. One form of media is a movie.The appropriate movie for young learners is child movie that contains education. The learners can learn to speak from the conversation in the movie. The aim of this study is to reveal the use of movie as the media in teaching speaking skill by the student-teacher and the perception of the students on how movies are used in teaching-learning. The subjects of this study were Fifth grade students of English for Young Learners in the University of Muhammadiyah Malang 2019. This research was conducted by means of descriptive design. The instruments of this study are observing the teaching-learning in the class, distributing the questionnaires, and checking the data with the lesson plan. The researcher revealed that the student-teacher used the movies as the media in order to makes the learning interesting. The researcher also found a positive perception from the students about the use of movie.Besides, the students can understand the material easily. The students learned new vocabulary and felt confident to speak with their friend. The students also agreed that movies use as the media in teaching-learning is effective. Therefore, it is suggested that the teaching-learning use movie as the media because of the positive response from the students.
