- Some legal events relating to freight forwarding services, especially those relating to the responsibility of the freight forwarding services for the loss or damage of the shipment. The fact that is found is often that claims submitted by the sender are not responded to by the company so that it sometimes creates problems. One form of breach that occurs is the loss or damage of the shipment and due to negligence that causes damage or loss of goods, namely responsibility in the form of payment of compensation to consumers who suffer losses using the procedures set by the company J & T Express. This paper aims to find out and understand what forms of defaults that consumers can claim. And to find out about default settlement based on the form of claim made by J & T Express Malang Branch. The method used in this writing is sociological juridical, which means that this study studies the real conditions that occur in the community or community environment. The data technique used is interview. The form of default that occurs in J & T Express is the late arrival of the goods to their destination, the loss of the shipment and damage to the shipment and which can be filed with the claim that the lost and damaged items are recommended to use insurance. The settlement used if there is a loss of electronic goods will be replaced in the form of a maximum of Rp. 20,000,000 and documents up to Rp. 2,000,000 and for loss of damage or loss of uninsured goods equal to 10x shipping costs.
