- Diseases which often occur in laying hens due to poor maintenance systems,one of them is caused by parasites especially worms.tropical climate in Indonesia itself is good for ova growth,larval survival,and infective ova in nature.there were cases of helminthiasis in west java can cause decrease in carcass production of kampong chicken between 8,4% (in a single infection) up to 22% (in mixed infection).meanwhile helminthiasis cases in Malang districts reach out 57% eventhough routinely given antelmentic for more than 3 consecutive years.what about blitar district which is the biggest center for laying hens in East Java with antelmentic effectiveness given by chicken farmer.this research aim to find out types of ova and worms that are widely found inside laying hens' gastrointestinal which are routinely treated with antelmentic in blitar district,and find out prevalence in chicken stool as the specimen that are routinely treated with antelmentic in Blitar district. This research was located in Blitar district,particularly in Srengat and Ponggok sub district.Material that was used were some main data of laying hens' stool specimen has been tested in animal health laboratory and some questionnaires as the supporting data.chicken stool taken from chicken farmers who has laying hens' population with minimum amount 2000 chickens and given the same antelmentic more than 3 years,data from laboratory processed with the prevalence formula and the results of the questionnaire were processed into a percentage form.processing data using a simple descriptive method by calculating prevalence found on chicken stool specimen tested. Results of the study show the type of worms found on laying hens which has been tested for chicken stool specimen are Ascaridia Galli and Heterakis Gallinarum.the number of chickens infected with worms are 26%.
