- ABSTRACT Forests in Indonesia have a very rich diversity of plant species. One of them is the Pinus plant (Pinus merkusii Jungh. Et de Vries This research was conducted to determine the effect of BAP spraying and the composition of the planting media on the growth of pine seedlings. This research was conducted in August-September 2019 at Landungsari Permai Housing Block D No. 2 and Forestry Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This research uses factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors, the first factor is the frequency of ZPT BAP spraying as much as 100ppm / liter (A) consisting of 4 levels, control (A1), once a day (A2), once every 2 days (A2) A3), and 3 days (A4). The second factor is the composition of the planting media (B) which consists of 3 levels, namely top soil: sand: chicken manure (B1), top soil: sand: goat manure (B2), top soil: sand: cow manure (B3) at a ratio of 2: 1: 1. The results are for the highest plant height in the combination of A4B1 treatment with an amount of 11.69 cm. The highest of leaves was found in the combination of A4B1 treatment with 35.93 strands. The largest diameter is in the A3B1 treatment combination with 1.87 mm. The frequency of spraying ZPT BAP twice (A4) is the most appropriate and good frequency for the growth. The composition of the top soil, sand and chicken manure (B1) growing media is a good and influences the growth.
