  • Indonesia is a country that has a variety of tourism objects. Both natural and artificial tourism. Malang is one of the places that attracts tourists. In addition to a variety of historic tourism, Malang also has reliable tourism that has survived for more than three years. The colorful tourist village of Jodipan is one of them. The village that was once known as a slum has changed its face to become a tourist village, namely the colorful tourist village of Jodipan or better known as KWJ, at the initiative of several students from the University of Muhammadiyah University of Malang who call themselves GuysPro and are doing practical activities in collaboration with a local paint factory and Jodipan village community. Managing a village that was not a tourist village before becoming a tourist village with the people in it is not an easy matter. Each tourist site has different problems and challenges. Management is one that must be considered, with good management, the tourist village will also be able to survive and compete. This study aims to determine social conflict in the management of tourist villages, and how the conflict occurred.This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of research that is phenomenology and the determination of subjects using Snowball sampling. This study applies data collection methods using observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and verification. The theory used in the analysis of this research is George Simmel's theory, namely the conflict functional theory. Tourism development does not only require capital and good relations. However, it also requires the cohesiveness and harmony of the members of the manager so that tourism continues to develop, survive and be able to compete. The results of this study indicate that there are several problems that exist in the management of colorful tourist villages. Both problems between individuals with individuals and individuals with several people (groups) with a variety of different causes from one individual to another individual.
