- This research was counducted because of the researched’s interest in the problems regarding psychological violence in the household. Psychological violence regulated in the legal provisions concerning acts of psychological violence on the criminal code according to article 89 of the criminal code and article 90 of the criminal code. As well as the legal provisions regarding Psychological Violence in Law number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence in consideration of the formation of this law, emphasized that all forms of violence, especially domestic violence, are violations of human rights and crimes against human dignity as well as forms of discrimination that must be removed. It is also considered that victims of domestic violence, mostly woman, must receive protection from the state or society to avoid and being free from violence or threats of violence, torture or treatment which degrading human dignity and dignity. Woman and children, of course are not limited to only needing citizenship rights, the right to life, self – development, health and a healthy environment, family, legal certainty and justice. But it also has the right to be free from threats, discrimination and violence and the right to protection. In the end, it will give birth to public trust in the government or state which is constitutionally obliged to protect woman and children, especially violence against woman and children in our country Indonesia is quite high.
