- This research was conducted in Malang on Irregularities in Religious Social Behavior of Student Alumni of Islamic Boarding Schools. The formulation of the problem in this research is how is the deviation of the social religious behavior of the student alumni of Islamic boarding schools? The title of this study is "Religious Social Behavior Irregularities Student Islamic Boarding School Alumni (Case Study of Student X Islamic Boarding School in Landungsari Village, Malang City)" This study uses the theory of rational choice James S. Coleman. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The research subjects were determined using purposive sampling technique. Data sources are supported by books and journals that are relevant to the research focus. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, in-depth interview techniques and documentation. While data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that, the factors underlying the causes of deviations in religious social behavior among students of the "X" boarding school alumni, namely the process of forming behavior before and after becoming students there were internal and external factors, the phase of the occurrence of religious social behavior deviations of student alumni of Islamic boarding schools, forms of deviant social religious behavior of alumni students; primary and secondary deviations. Life in a boarding school is inseparable from the signs or regulations governing activities and boundaries of action. After becoming alumni they are free to choose to make their choices, there are alumni students who are still carrying out their religious activities routinely and some are starting to weaken their religion. as defined by James S. Coleman in Rational Choice theory with the concept of Actors and Resources.
