- Background: Swimming is one of the sports that had the most number of participants in the Olympic Championship 2012. Swimming is affected by techniques, physiological conditions, and mental strength. Swimming metabolism systems can be different based on distance. VO2 max is the best indicator of the individual cardiorespiratory capacity. Exercise with aerobic system can cause reduction in homeostasis degree disorder as well as fatigueness. Objective: To understand the influence of distance to maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 Max) of female front crawl stroke athletes in a range of age 11-15. Method: Observational analytic research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was total sampling. The samples were 14 respondents which was divided by 2 categories, 1000-2000 m and >3000 m. These groups will do a 3-minute step test. The data were statistically analyzed by independent T-Test. Result and discussion: The result of Independent T Test is the value P= 0,028 which showed a significant influence between distance and VO2 max. The results in Vo2 max distribution based on age was a 14 years old group had the highest vo2 max value Conclusion: VO2 max of female crawl stroke athletes, in a range of age 11-15, is affected by distance
