  • Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that can cause several complications. Diabetic neuropathy is one of the most frequent microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus due to its 60-70% incidence and can significantly worsen patients quality of life due to decreased sensory sensation which result a vulnerability of diabetes mellitus patient to foot injuries. Factors that influence the incidence of diabetic neuropathy include age, gender, and duration of diabetes mellitus. Objective: To determine the profile of diabetic neuropathy patients in University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital period October-December 2019. Methods: This research is a descriptive observational study with a case control study approach. The technique used in this research is purposive sampling with a total of 180 respondents. Result: The frequency distribution of diabetic neuropathy patients in University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital period October-December 2019 based on age, mostly in the range of age 60-69 years of age by 44% and at least age <40 years by 1%. Based on gender, it was found that women were 69% and men were 31%. Based on duration of diabetes mellitus at most in the range of 1-10 years by 67% and at least in the range of >20 years by 8%. Conclusion: Diabetic neuropathy patients in University of Muhammadiyah Malang Hospital period October-December 2019 were mostly in the age range 60-69 years, women, and duration of diabetes mellitus 1-10 years.
