  • Indonesia is located in an area that has earthquake-prone potential, so building construction in Indonesia must pay attention to the requirements of earthquake-resistant buildings due to lateral loads. In order for a building structure to withstand lateral and vertical loads due to earthquakes, the building must be designed based on an appropriate structural system. In this paper the design is carried out in the Kusuma Bangsa Surabaya hotel building which will be designed using a dual system (dual system) in areas that have high earthquake risk. Dual System is one structural system whose gravity load is fully borne by the space frame, while the lateral load and the rest are borne by the shearwall. Shearwall and space frame that become a single unit are expected to be able to control lateral deflection. The results of the design of the structure of this building are 10 cm thick roof plate and 12 cm thick floor plate. Elongated beams using dimensions 25x45 cm with a diameter of 16 mm reinforcement and shear reinforcement 10 mm. Elongated beams use dimensions 30x50 cm and transverse beams use dimensions 30x60 cm with reinforcement diameters 22 mm and shear reinforcement 10 mm. The column uses dimensions of 65x65 cm with 22 mm reinforcement diameter and 12 mm shear reinforcement. The dimensions of the shearwall used in planning are 30 mm with a reinforcement diameter of 16 mm.
