  • The United States is one of the superpowers, making every policy issued by the US Government affect the global conditions. In the era of the leadership of Donald Trump there are policies that are quite controversial in the global scope, one of which is Travel Ban. This travel ban policy is part of the Executive Order, Protection of the Nation from Terrorist Attacks by Foreign Nationals. This research will discuss the factors that become the reason the US government issued the policy. To see what factors influence the issuance of a travel ban, the Foreign Policy Adaptation Theory is used. The use of this theory is to see the influencing factors in terms of external, internal and leadership factors from the US itself. In this research, it is shown that external factors that influence this policy are the flow of international migration that continues to grow. Then, within the scope of internal safeguarding national security from foreign attacks as one of the US national interests, the government must adapt to international conditions. Both of these factors can not be separated from the role of the leader to issue a policy. In this case Donald Trump's leadership of the travel ban policy is also influential. In his state address Trump said, during his leadership the US will always be safe, secure and protected from all threats originating from outside the US.
