- Building planning that takes into account the impact of an earthquake will be needed to reduce the impact of material losses and the life safety of its users. Shear wall or commonly called shear wall is one of the solutions of the structure that can be used as a lateral force bearer caused by an earthquake so that it is expected that the stiffness is greater than the frame structure owned by the shear wall can reduce the forces that occur and reduce the forces which occur in the column structure. By placing the shear wall in the right location, its use can be utilized optimally in terms of economic, safety, and even efficiency aspects from the time of construction until the time of the earthquake. Shear wall placement will be divided into 3 models (existing, alternative 1, alternative 2) where each model is different from the location of the West Core and East Core shear walls. The selection of shear walls that change location based on the dimensions of the continuous height up to the roof floor, so that the shear wall in question will have a considerable effect when the location is moved. Judging from the stability after a comparison, it was found that alternative model 2 was the most optimal of the two models as well as the reinforcement control, where alternative model 2 could be planned using reinforcement that was smaller than the existing model with the same shear wall dimensions.
