  • The most crucial problem a means children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are social skills. The parent or caregiver relationship with the child is the basis for the child's emotional and social development which can affect their social skills. The improper parenting can risk reducing the positive effects of interventions given to ASD children. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of SIAP in improving social skills in ASD children. This study uses a development research approach with research subjects are parents and children with ASD with low and moderate social skills. This study uses the Autism Social Skills Profile (ASSP) as instrument. Data analysis techniques used in this study were the Wilcoxon Ranks Test and Mann-Whitney test. The results of the effectiveness test show that SIAP can help improve social skills in children with ASD. The involvement of parents who apply mindfulness parenting in social skills training for ASD children can improvement social skills of children with ASD. Thus the developed SIAP model can be applied to children with ASD to improve their social skills.
