The problem of obesity (obesity) in children in Indonesia is unresolved. In Malang, obesity has increased from 41.68% to 42.53% in 2016. The main cause is the change in consumption of foods that do not meet the standards of balanced nutrition and lack of exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the causes of obesity at school age. The design of this study uses quantitative descriptive. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. The total sample of 60 parents who have obese children of school age and data collection tools using a questionnaire that was modified by the researchers themselves. Eating patterns in obese children were "sufficient" (n = 42, 70.0%). For "Poor" data (n = 2, 3.3%), and Good (n = 16, 26.7%). Then, the pattern of physical activity in obese children is "Enough" as much (n = 44, 73.3%), "Less" as much (n = 5, 8.3%) and "Good" as much (n = 11, 18, 3%). The majority of causes of obesity in school-age children in the Arjuno Community Health Center Work Area occur in boys with a vulnerable age of 6-12 years. In terms of eating patterns, there are 16 respondents in the category of good eating patterns, 42 categories of adequate dietary patterns and 2 respondents in the category of poor diet. In terms of patterns of physical activity of children, there are 11 respondents with good physical activity patterns, 44 adequate categories and 5 respondents bad categories. From these results, it appears that the percentage of children who are obese still needs to be considered again in order to prevent obesity that occurs in children.
