  • Mathematics learning process is still not optimal, because there are students who are having problems solving the problem. For that we need to increase problem solving abilities. One of the methods of mathematics instruction offered is problem posing. Problem posing is an approach that exposes students to a problem and examine the problem from various aspects, and to formulate the problem and then find solutions. The purpose of this research is to improve students' skills in mathematical problem solving subject of Pythagoras theorem through problem posing approach, to improve student learning outcomes approach to problem posing, and enhance student creativity through problem posing approach. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-C of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 stones that numbered 27 students. Variables is problem solving, learning, and creativity. This research is a classroom action research carried out by using the cycle of work procedures. Each cycle consists of four phases, namely planning, execution, observation and reflection. Based on the data required in this research, data collection tools used were tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and discussions. Results showed that students' problem solving abilities in the first cycle is quite good with an average of 60.9. In the second cycle was increased by an average of 83.2 which is fair. Mastery learning students on the first cycle reaches 62.96% with a complete student and learn as much as 17 people who did not complete as many as 10 people. While the mastery learning students on the second cycle reached 88.88% with a complete student and learn as much as 24 people who did not complete as many as three people. Level of creativity of students in one class at an average of 74.64%, the level of creativity of students based on divergent thinking components at an average of 74.64%, while the level of creativity of students as individuals have obtained the results of 12 students who obtained a percentage of 85% From the above description, it can be concluded that learning by problem posing approach is one form of innovation in improving the quality of learning with the aim of improving students' skills in solving problems.
