- Background: coping mechanisms of Emotion Focused Coping (EFC) is one form of one's effort to deal with stress by managing emotions. Stress occurs because something is considered threatening, demanding and endangering someone, so that someone responds physiologically, emotionally, cognitively and actions. The cause of stress is called stressors. Stress can be divided into two, internal and external stressors. There are many types of external stressors that cause stress, one of which is work stressors. In East Java, trade sector workers are the most jobs after agriculture, which is 36.5% of the total 19, 11 million workers. In the trade sector there are many stressors that can cause stress, so it is important for traders to be able to deal with stress when working well. Research Method: This research is descriptive with cross sectional design. The study population was cadger in Pasar Lawang with sampling using purposive sampling and totaling 48 respondents. data Analyze with Chi-square and merge columns or rows using IBM SPSS 24 computer software. Results: The results of this study indicate a P value of 1,000 with a value of α 0.05, which means there is not relation of work stressors and coping mechanisms of Emotion Focused Coping (EFC) at cadger in Pasar Lawang. Discussion: There are many factors that influence work stressors and coping mechanism of Emotion Focused Coping, one of which is perception of stressors, years of service and skills. So there is not always a relation of work stressors and coping Mechanism of Emotion Focused Coping (EFC) at cadger in Pasar Lawang.
