  • The existence of diseases in the aquatic environment is one of the obstacles in the development of aquaculture. Bacteria A. hydrophila is one of the bacteria that causes disease in fish. To overcome this, farmers often use antibiotics. The use of antibiotics continuously can have a negative impact, one of which is making bacteria resistant and polluting the aquatic environment so that environmentally friendly alternatives are needed. One of the medicinal plants that can be used as an environmentally friendly alternative is the skin of dragon fruit (Hylocereus Polyrhizus). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dragon fruit peel extract (H. costaricensis) on the histopathological kidney of tilapia (O. niloticus) infected with A. hydrophila bacteria. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). In this study consisted of 4 treatments, 1 control and 3 replications. The treatment used was Hylocereus Polyrhizus dragon fruit extract) with a dose without treatment o ml / gr, 4 ml / gr, 6 ml / gr and 8 ml / gr. Kidney tissue abnormalities that occur in the study are necrosis, congestion and edema. The results showed the lowest liver tissue damage was treatment C with a dose of 6 gr.
