  • Self-development is a program that is prepared to make the students are able to help themselves in the subject that is related with their own needs and eating process is one of the material that will be taught to the student of tunagrahita The aims of this research To find out the implementation of self-development in the eating learning at the level of student’s independence in the inclusion school based on medium category in the SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang. To find out the supporting factor and obstacle in the student of tunagrahita on their eating self-development based on medium Category at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang. This research is using qualitative approach and descriptive method. The researcher in this study as the data collector, collecting the data, and processing the data which is related to the eating self-development to the student of tunagrahita. The researcher is using observation, interview, and documentation. The activities in data analysis are including data reduction, presentation and conclusion the data, and data verification. Based on the result of this research, the conclusion are : The implementation of eating self-development learning to the student of tunagrahita based on medium category in inclusive school at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang can be shown from their ability in taking the rice, side dishes, and kind of vegetables, the eating ability using spoon and fork, the ability of implementation how to eat politely, and the ability of tiding the table after finishing eating process. Based on the result of this research, it can be seen that the supporting factor and obstacle factor of the ability of the student tunagrahita based on medium category at SDN Sumbersari 2 Malang, such as; there is the existence of the complete equipment in self-development eating learning. The teacher gives the theory and practice material. Besides the supporting factor, there is an obstacle factor such as the slef-development learning is not effective because there is the student’s interference from the other class.
