- Tofu is a product from soybeans that is very popular and most widely produced in Indonesia. Tofu industry is one food industry that needs to be developed in its production equipment. However, fact showed that many tofu industries use conventional tools in the production process. In line with this, researcher designed and made modern tofu heaters more efficient. Ketel Uap Pipa Api Vertikal is designed to increase the amount of tofu production with good quality. Researcher used the Pugh method in designing a steam engine design in accordance with the Association of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) standards. The steam engine in this study was also designed with boiler construction at 2 bar operating pressure, 5 bar boiler pressure. The boiler body diameter of this steam engine is 320 mm with a water capacity of 40.19 liters and a steam capacity of 23.8 liters with an additional 6 fire pipes with a diameter of 42 mm boiler fuel using LPG gas and the fuel requirement is 3 kg/hour.
