- This study aims to analyze the base sectors in the regencies and cities in North Kalimantan Province in 2014-2018. Data analysis techniques used in this study are Location Quotient (LQ) and dynamic Shift Share. The data used is secondary time series data in the form of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Regency and City in North Kalimantan. The results of the Location Quotien (LQ) analysis which included the base sector in Malinau District had six sectors, in Bulungan District there were eight sectors, in Tana Tidung District there were four sectors, in Nunukan District there were two sectors and in Tarakan City there were fourteen sectors. The results of the Shift Share analysis of sectors that have a competitive advantage in Malinau District have four sectors, in Bulungan District there are seven sectors, in Tana Tidung Regency there are two sectors, in Nunukan Regency there are five sectors and in Tarakan City there are eleven sectors. For the sector that specializes in Malinau District there are five sectors, in Bulungan Regency there are eight sectors, in Tana Tidung Regency there are four sectors, in Nunukan Regency there are two sectors and in Tarakan City there are fourteen sectors.
