- This study aims to determine the diversity of mycorrhizal genus in the rhizosphere of apple plants in Poncokusumo Malang and to determine the relative abundance of spores in the rhizosphere of apple plants and determine the spore density of the propagated results on host plants. This research was conducted in January-August 2019 in the Agronomy Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The experiment was carried out by taking soil samples from 5 apple orchards in Poncokusumo that were coded with P1, P2, P3, P4, P5. Samples were then weighed and identified using a microscope to determine genus diversity and the relative abundance of mycorrhizal spores and then propagated on sterile media. The observational variables consisted of genus diversity, relative abundance of spores and density of spores resulting from propagation. The results showed that mycorrhizae found in the rhizosphere of apple plants are mycorrhizal genus Glomus, Acaulospora and Gigaspora. Mycorrhizal genus Glomus has the highest relative abundance compared to mycorrhizal genus Acaulospora and Gigaspora. The results of spore propagation on host plants showed the highest value of spore density found in the genus Mycorrhiza Glomus, while the genus Acaulospora and Gigaspora included in the very low category.
