  • In recent years, environmental are important issues in the transportation field. The vehicle is one of the transportation modes that play an essential role in distributing goods. Vehicle fuel is an important parameter in Green House Gas (GHG) emission. Therefore, this study aims to determine the optimal route with the least amount of fuel consumption. In this research, a VRP model was proposed to calculate fuel consumption in a routing plan. Transportation distance and loading weight are factors that affect fuel consumption and considered into the model. Then Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is used to determine the best route with the least fuel consumption. The result of this experiment shows that the formed route produces the smallest total fuel consumption. That means that, if the company can distribute goods with better fuel consumption, then the method can be a strategy for developing models in reducing vehicle fuel consumption.
