  • Aquatic macroinvertebrates are animals that live in aquatic areas and can be seen directly (visibly). They are able to provide an overview of the physical, chemical and biological conditions of a water due to its sensitiveness to environmental changes which they occupy. Thus, they can be used as bioindicators of water quality. The purpose of this study is to determine the type of aquatic macroinvertebrates in the Selorejo reservoir, Ngantang District, Malang Regency as a bio-indicator of water quality developed as a source of learning biology. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with purposive sampling method. This research was conducted at three different research stations, then the findings of macroinvertebrate types were analyzed with the Spearman correlation test. Research implementation as a source of learning based on the requirements for the utilization of pure research results into education is carried out by analyzing the learning device documents. The results found macroinvertebrate types namely Pomacea canaliculata species, Melanoides tuberculata, Lymnaea rubiginosa, Bellamnya javanica. The Animal Diversity Index Value at each research station is <1.0 which indicates water quality classified as heavily polluted, while the Uniformity Index Value <0.6 which indicates water quality classified as heavily polluted. Animals found belong to the kind of tolerant that has a high tolerance limit for water quality ranging from mildly polluted to heavily polluted. The most commonly found animals are Melanoides tuberculata species totaling 121 individuals at station II with abiotic factors such as Temperature 27 ° C, salinity value of 5.1 ppt, basic substrate in the form of sandy mud, pH value of 6, value of Desolved Oxygen (DO) amounting to 4.4 mg O2 / l, Biochemycal Oxygen Demand (BOD) level of 17.83 mg / l, Total Suspended Solid (TSS) level of 18.8 mg / l.
