  • PDAM Tirta Kencana Samarinda is a regional company engaged in drinking water management in Samarinda. The problem that will be discussed in this study is the damage that often occurs in the Gland Packing and Thrust Bearing components experienced in the Vertical Turbine engine. The purpose of this study is to find out the appropriate maintenance measures using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and to find out the replacement intervals and decrease in company expenses by using Age Replacement. Based on data processing using the Reliability Centered Maintenance method of maintenance measures obtained for both components of Gland Packing and Thrust Bearing are Time Directed (TD). The maintenance interval obtained for the Gland Packing component is 13 days while for the Thrust Bearing component is 27 days. Cost reduction that was successfully reduced by using the Age Replacement method for Gland Packing components was Rp.73,915,596 or 13.4% and for the Thrust Bearing component Rp.51,732,391 or 13.2%.
