The establishment process of self concept in children gain from opinion/assessment from outside of oneself (by other people or by the environment), therefore most of children’s way to learn is by imitating, copying and reflecting stimulator or stimuli from the outside. By seeing the growth and development for waifs which majority live on the street, and the way they were able to absorb their experience as long as they live, such as getting rough treatment, humiliated, ignored, and perhaps abused, poor family relationship and others has made waifs absorbing unpleasant experience which might affecting their self concept. Approach used in this study is qualitative approach, where subject in this study is three waifs in Pasuruan, with teen age between 1523 years old. Subsequently data collection method is using interview technique, where data analysis is using data reduction process, data display, decision making and verification. From the result of study we might conclude that self concept of waifs in teen age within this case is tend to be negative, this might have seen from first, self insight for each waif is inadequate since they didn’t know themselves well and complete. Second, there is inability of waifs in fulfilling self expectation standard, and other things that might be achieved by them. Third, self assessment which is tend to be negative toward self by assuming that oneself is not valuable and doesn’t have certain strengths. Several factors affecting self concept of waifs to become negative is the attitude/treatment of their surrounding people which seems to ignore them, the existence of peer which have effect toward each other, and minim or unharmonious family relationship for the development of waifsSelf concept has been an important role in one life, since positive self concept might become the source of strong struggle within oneself and might affecting someone attitude to made decision for oneself. Subsequently this positive self concept has shown positive beliefs and attitudes.
