  • Hypercholesterolemia is a disorder of lipid levels characterized by increased levels of cholesterol in the body. High cholesterol levels cause the incidence of several diseases such as coronary heart diseases. Therefore we need for treatment that diseases with herbal medicine using Azadirachta indica. This research has been done with the purpose is the effects of Azadirachta indica leaf extract in decreasing cholesterol in male white rats wistar. This research used about 25 male rats wistar, weight 150-200 g were divided into 5 groups randomly, for the group of; negative control (without treatment); positive control (fed atherogenics); PA Azadirachta indica leaf extract (Dose I 200 mg/kgBB); PB Azadirachta indica leaf extract (Dose II 400 mg/kgBB); PC Azadirachta indica leaf extract (Dose III 600 mg/kgBB). Every treatment consisted of 5 rats were performed of 5 times. Data of research result using One Way Anova test where data is normal and homogeneous distribution. The results showed that the extract of Azadirachta indica leaf affect the decrease in total cholesterol levels in the blood. In Duncan test the effective dose of bay leaf extract on decreasing total cholesterol level is 600 mg/kgBB. According to the result and analysis has been done can be concluded that the provision of bay leaf extract can reduce total cholesterol levels in blood of white rats. Hopefully, the results of this research can be a further study of biological learning resource analysis
