- This wind turbine was designed to create a new alternative electric energy resource from the wind for street lighting on the JLS (Jalur Lintas Selatan) Gemah beach in Tulungagung. The turbine will be operated at average 4m/s wind speed. The data of wind speed was taken in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The wind turbine used horizontal type because this turbine has the advantage that the more higher the tower, the more power was generated and has higher efficiency because the blade always moves perpendicular to the direction of the wind. The corrosion resistance materials were applied as turbine component. These materials were chosen because the wind turbine will be installed at the seashore where the air has very high salt content The results of the calculation and discussion of the wind turbine design are : turbines consist of 2 blades with length of 2m each and made from fiber spectra 900, the gearbox, tail, and hub made from Aluminium and the tower made from concrete. This wind turbine used a motor with 600 Rpm.
