- Childhood is a period when it is easy for children to replicate anything they see. If the people around him give examples of good attitude, they will also imitate them. It surely would be great if parents provide an ideal model for their children so that they love and memorize the Qur’an. There will be always teachers who give great influence in motivating students to be steadfast in memorizing the Qur'an. This study aims to describe the efforts made by the teachers of the Qur'an at Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah Al-Umm to motivate students Qur'an memorization. In addition, this research also tries to reveal the factors that encourage the students to memorize the Qur'an. This study inquires some questions, such as: 1) What are the efforts made by the teacher of the Qur'an in motivating the students to memorize the Qur'an in Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah Al-Umm Malang? 2) What are the factors that encourage students to memorize the Qur'an in Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah Al-Umm Malang This research uses qualitative research. The data collection methods are observation, interview and documentation. The subjects of the study are the students of Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah and the teachers of tahfizhul Qur’an (Qur’an memorization) program. The researcher choose Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah because this institution has a good tahfizhul Quran program with teachers who have been competent and have the Qur'an's sanad (chain of narration). In addition, this institution has also achieved a number of achievements in several tahfizhul quran competitions so that this school is suitable as a setting of research. The conclusion from the results of research and evaluation in the field shows that the students of Ma'had Aly Al-Aimmah really need motivation from teachers to keep them enthusiastic in memorizing the Qur'an. In addition, the students must also continue to gain insight into the factors that interfere their motivation in memorizing the Qur'an, in order to encourage them to keep on improving their memorization every day.
