  • Consumption is an activity of using goods or services to meet one's needs. Protein is one of the most important nutrients in the development of human resources. Utilization of protein by the body is determined by the completeness of the content of essential amino acids contained in the protein consumed. The method used in this study was survey. Questionnaire is a data collection technique done by making a set of written questions to the respondents to be answered. Thus, the subject of this study were 50% of family identity card of farmers and fishermen in Bulusan Village, Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency. This study used descriptive analysis, a problem statement regarding the existence of an independent variable, whether only on one or more independent variables. Moreover, t-test analysis of this method was used in order to analyze the differences between protein consumed by the farmers’ household and fishermen’s household (ie, the average of two difference tests with the t-test). The data were obtained from the respondent of the farmers’ and fishermen’s household. The result shows that the consumption of animal protein from livestock in the farmers’ household is greater than the fishermen’s. This might be because of the different average level of education and income of them. One of the animal protein food from livestock that is most often consumed in the farmer’s and fishermen’s households is eggs with a percentage of 36% in the farmers and 16% in the fishermen. In addition, this is because the price of the eggs is cheaper comparing with other animal protein sources from livestock.
