  • The aims of this research are (1) finding the types of language anxiety encountered by FLSP Students from Indonesian Education, Language, & Literature Department of UMM in Speaking Class. (2) knowing teacher’s strategies to reduce their students’ anxiety in learning English speaking. The method used in this research was mix method as the appropriate way to analyse and obtain specific information opinions of particular subjects. The subject of this research is the first semester students of Indonesian Education, Language, & Literature Department of UMM. This research used questionnaire from FLCAS adopted by Horwitz and interview guide as the instrument to collect the data. The result of research findings that the majority of FLSP Students from Indonesian Education, Language, & Literature Department of UMM encountered speaking anxiety in communication apprehension which is 73% of students. Then, there are three types made by FLSP Students from Indonesian Education, Language, & Literature Department of UMM encountered language anxiety. There are: 1) Communication Apprehension 2) Fear of Negative Evaluation 3) Test Anxiety. Furthermore, the lecturer used three strategies to reduce students’ anxiety, namely group work, Role Play and games.
