- PT Fajar Putra Plasindo is a company that manufactures plastics, the product is a plastic pallet. Besides Plastic Pallet, other products produced are Plastic Chair, TC 15 Plastic Bucket, Plastic Animal Food Container and Leg Shield. This research is focused on plastic pallet products. After observing the plastic pallet production process, there are several types of waste. If waste is associated with costs, it can increase production costs and holding costs, therefore need to be continuous improvement. One approach that can be done is to use the concept of lean manufacturing. Tools that can be used are value stream mapping integrated with cost. Based on the results of the questionnaire and weighting of each waste is unnecessary inventory. Then do identification of the causes of waste that occurs using the Root Cause Analysis method, and provide suggestions for improvement based on Failure Modes and Effect Analysis. Then what is proposed is to improve priority is Determination of safety stock based on estimates by considering average usage. maximum usage to minimum usage in the previous period, delivery of raw materials from suppliers that were done once a week is changed to twice a week, and an agreement was made with a supplier of raw materials, if there is a delay in sending raw materials, then punishment will be given. The resulting changes are reduced inventory cost of Rp 1,165,996, and production lead time of 3.94 days.
