- In teenage life not infrequently various problems often occur among adolescents, a problem that often occurs in adolescents is the lack of courage in adolescents to express what they want to express or convey. Basically courage is very necessary on every individual including teenagers. Development and validity of the measuring instrument or instrument used, which in this study will develop Virtues in Action-Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS) and will focus more on bravery character for teenagers. Validity testing will be conducted on 300 students taken using nonprobability sampling technique. Of the two instruments tested, obtained 9 valid items from 10 items tested on IBS instruments and 7 valid items of 10 items on VIA-IS instrument. TheCronbach's Alpha reliability test obtained on the IBS instrument is 0.790 and in the VIA-IS instrument of 0.688, which is that reliability is accepted ≥0.7. Using the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Kaiser-Mayer_Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy (KMO) of the IBS instrument was 0.845 and from the VIA-IS instrument 0.741 with significant 0.000 being ≤0.5, which means that it has good factor analysis. Results show that IBS instruments and VIA-IS instruments are insignificant.
