- Listening comprehension is one of the four skills that plays a very important role at the beginning stage of the language acquisition. In fact, there are many students who have problems in their listening comprehension, especially the Thai students. The purpose of this study is to know the problems Thai students face in learning listening comprehension. The researcher design used in this study was descriptive qualitative because the researcher wants to describe the problems faced by Thai students in learning listening. The subjects of this research will be seven Thai students who are studying in English Department at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The collecting the data, the researcher used interview. Firstly, the findings of the study showed that Thai students had 3 problems namely, message overload, message comlexity, preoccupation, and prejudgements. These problems made them unable to listen effectively. The last was lack of effort. Thai students lacked of the effort in learning listening. They needed to practice more in learning listening skills. In brief, Thai students had many problems in learning listening almost they low vocabulary, pronunciation, and the speaker.
