  • Background : Diarrhea is a major cause of mortality and morbidity of children in the world, especially in developing countries. Infant mortality rate caused by diarrhea in Indonesia is high. Diarrhea is caused by various factors, one of them is early of giving complementary feedingto infants. Objective : To find the correlation between giving early complementary feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 0-6 months in Prambon Health Center, Sidoarjo Regency. Method : Analytical observation with cross sectional design. The samples were infants aged 0-6 months in the Prambon Health Center work area, Sidoarjo with 142 respondents were taken by purposive sampling method. Data were collected by questionnaire, analysed by Chi-square test. Results and Discussion : The results showed that 92 infants received early complementary feeding, 87 infants had experienced of diarrhea and 5 infants had not experienced of diarrhea.While 50 babies who did not get early complementary feeding, 13 babies had experienced of diarrhea and 37 babies had not experienced of diarrhea. The results of Chi-square test analysis showed that the significance value is (p)<α (0,000<0,05). It means that there was significant correlation between early of giving complementary feeding with the incidence of diarrhea. Conclusion : There was significant correlation between giving early complementary feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 0-6 months in Prambon Health Center, Sidoarjo Regency.
