- The research was conducted in 20th Mei - 01th July 2019 in Laboratory of Aquaculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry University of Muhammadiyah, Malang. The purpose of this research was to effect addition of enzyme papain from papaya fruit sap (Carica papaya L.) in commercial fish feed on growth and survival fingerlings of gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) and to known the best enzyme papain dose to growth and survival rate fingerlings of gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.). This research used the experimenthal method while the experimenthal design that was used completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 levels of treatment and 1 control. The treatment is giving different enzyme papain dose, like 1 treatment (0 ml/100 gram feed), 2 treatment (2,5 ml/100 gram feed), 3 treatment (5 ml/100 gram feed), and 4 treatment (7,5 ml/100 gram feed). The fish used fingerlings of gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.) from Tulungagung. The gouramy fish size used 7-8 cm. Research contrainer from aquarium which size 40 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. Each of aquarium giving 20 fingerlings of gouramy fish. This research was conducted for 30 days. The result showed that different enzyme papain from papaya fruit sap dose giving real influence (P<0,05) to growth (groth rate, spesific groeth rate and length rate) and not different to survival fingerlings of gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy Lac.). 3 treatment with enzyme papain dose (5 ml/ 100 gram feed) obtained the best value betwen all treatment with absolute length of 1,08 cm, the daily growth rate of 1,23%bb/hari, the absolute weigth of 2,62 gr, and the best of survival rate is 4 treatment (7,5 ml/100 gram feed) of 83 %.
