- The increasing use of smartphones had a negative impact on the teenagers' behaviour where teenagers tended to focus more on smartphones than their surrounding. Such behavior could lead to smartphone addiction. Smartphone addiction is the loss of self control due to excessive preoccupation and obsession on smartphone. The aim of this research is to compare smartphone addiction in teenage boys and girls. This research was comparative researchwith probability sampling technique. The number of subject was 250 teenagers with 125 teenagers girls and 125 teenagers boys . The research instrument was a smartphone addiction scale. Furthermore, the results of the study found that there were differences in smartphone addiction between teenage boys and girls with sig values. (2-tailed) 0,000. Another finding showed that girls had higher rates of smartphone addiction than boys.
