  • Mathematical communication skills that need to be improved through periodic learning by improving the quality of performance through Assessments for Learning based Pair Check learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Pair Checks (PC) based Assessment for Learning (AfL) learning model and determine the level of mathematical communication skills in the Assessment for Learning (AfL) based Pair Check (PC) learning in terms of student learning styles. This research was conducted at SMPN 4 Pujon in class VIII for 4 meetings. The research approach that will be used in this study is a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. The instruments in this study were in the form of lesson plans, tests, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. RPP is used for the application of AfL-based PC learning models, tests are used to measure the level of mathematical communication skills, observations are carried out to obtain the implementation of AfL-based PC learning models, Questionnaire as a grouping of student learning styles, and interviews are conducted to obtain non-written information about mathematical communication skills students, based on their learning styles The results of the study show that mathematical communication skills of students with visual learning styles are higher than students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. Whereas Mathematical Communication Skills of students with auditory learning styles are higher than students with kinesthetic learning styles.
