  • Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is condition that the patient has abnormality structure and function of kidney. CKD needs hemodialysis. The duration of hemodialysis therapy affects the quality of patient’s life. Purpose: To determine the correlation between duration of hemodialysis and quality of life of patient with chronic kidney disease at Blambangan Hospital Banyuwangi. Methods: Analytic research with cross sectional approach. Data was obtained by validated questionnaire using KDQOL SFTM1.3 and medical records. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Results: The correlation coefficient’s result of rank spearman was 0.398, with the significant level (p) 0,016 (<0.05), It means there was significant correlation between duration of hemodialysis and quality of life of patient with chronic kidney disease at Blambangan Hospital Banyuwangi. Patient’s quality of life was fluctuating based on adaptation phase to hemodialysis and disease. Most of those patients hemodialysis more than 12 months had good quality of life, since they adapted well holistically (biopsychosocial and environment). Conclusions: there was significant correlation between duration of hemodialysis and quality of life of patient with chronic kidney disease at Blambangan Hospital Banyuwangi.
