- This study airned to describe the level of ability critical thinking in solving mathematical problems on system of linear equations in two variabels. The type of this study was descriptive with a qualitative approach. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Banyuglugur. The subjects were all of the students at class IX-B. Data collection techniques consist of test and interview. The results showed that students with high levels critical thinking skills were able to complete the indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Students with critical thinking skills were able to complete the indicator of interpretation and analysis. Students with low critical thinking skills were able to complete the indicators of interpretation and analysis. Students with very low levels of critical thinking skills were only able to complete the indicators of interpretiton.
