- Collocation is one of the English aspects that is commonly used in daily conversation. The formation of collocation is one or more words which come together. Nevertheless, not every word could be collocated and identified. There are many forms that use collocation as one part of communications media; one of which can be found on the movie. The goals of this research were to find out collocations used by the main character in the “Hidden Figures” movie. This research was purposed to identify (1) collocation that was used by the main character in the “Hidden Figures” movie and, (2) investigate the types and the patterns of the collocation that were used by the main character that was found in the “Hidden Figures” movie. Quantative design was applied in this research. The data were taken from the script of the main character (Katherine) in the “Hidden Figures” movie from the beginning until the end of the movie. The fundamental instrument in this research was the researcher herself and supported by the document script of the main character (Katherine) in the “Hidden Figures” movie. This research revealed that there are 29 collocations that were used by the main character in the “Hidden Figures” movie from the beginning until the end of the movie. Lexical collocation is the highest number of the collocation compared to grammatical collocation that was used by the main character on that movie. It is because verb has a fundamental role that is mostly used in the lexical collocation. Besides, it shows transition, eradication, and nullification of the Katherine’s dialogue.
