  • Conversion land has become one of the massive things that happen in urban and rural areas. External or internal factors will determine the rate of land conversion. Form, type, and pattern of conversion land are very diverse. In general, agricultural land converted into other agricultural or non-agricultural functions. One of the conversions agricultural land into non-agricultural land happens in Jetak Ngasri Hamlet (dusun). Agricultural land in Jetak Ngasri is converted to café businesses. Therefore, this study aims to know the conversion process of conversion agricultural land to cafe businesses. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive research and case study approach. The subject of this research was divided into three classifications of actors involved in conversion land. The classifications are; Village Government, landowner farmers, and cafe owners with a total of 12 research subjects. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. This research used triangulation data sources as the data validation technique, and the analysis techniques are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/ verification. The theoretical basis in this research is modernization theory by Neil J. Smelser. The process of conversion land begins with the café owner's idea, searching for lease land, negotiation, and make a lease agreement on stamp paper, permission, and café building process as the last step. Conversion land has changed the social conditions, especially the farmers and society. The changes occur in some relations such as business, family, community, and it causes a discontinuity or civil disorder issues in the Jetak Ngasri society.
