Pengaruh Pemberian Perasan Apel Malang (Malus Sylvestris) Terhadap Jumlah Eosinofil Pada Pulmo Tikus Jantan Galur Wistar Yang Diinduksi Ovalbumin
Daftar Isi:
- Background: Allergies are immune reactions that produces primary inflammatory mediators (eosinophils and neutrophils) and secondary inflammatory mediators (prostaglandin leukotrienes, cytokines). This process can be prevented by stabilizing mast cell membranes. Malang Apple can inhibit mast cell degranulation because it contains quercetin as a mast cell membrane stabilizer. Purpose: To determine the effect of malang apple juice (Malus sylvestris) to number of eosinophils cell in pulmonary histology of male rats (Wistar Strains) induced by ovalbumin. Method: True Experimental, Post Test Only Control Group Design with 25 rats samples were divided into 5 groups. Normal group, a positive control group ovalbumin induced (by intaperitoneal and inhalation), and three groups of ovalbumin are induced (by intraperitoneal and inhalation) and given the juice of apples 15% v/v, 20% v/v and 25% v/v. Observations were using light microscope with 400x magnification and 1000 x magnification to confirmed and for identify of eosinophils. Results and Discussion: Kruskal-wallis test used because distribution of datas were not normal and the result p = 0.02 which means there was significantly and each group has differences among grups. Test result of post Hoc Mann-Whitney, Apple juice with the levels of 15% v/v began to give significant effects to decrease the number of eosinophils. This was due to quercetin in the juice of apples could stabilize mast cell membrane and can prevent or inhibit degranulation of mast cell. Conclusion: There was the influence of malang apple juice (Malus sylvestris) to decrease the number of eosinophils cell in pulmonary histology of male rats (Wistar Strains) induced by ovalbumin.
