  • Foundation is the most important structure of a building which functions to distribute the structure loads on it to the supporting soil layer. The structure of high-rise building should have strong foundation to be able to support all loads of the building. This conducted study aims to plan a strong and efficient foundation in the case study of “Grand Dharmahusada Lagoon Apartment Surabaya” with considering the settlement that occurred. Raft foundation is known adequate to support a huge loads from the building yet producing a high rate of settlement. Because of that, therefore raft pile foundation is selected to handle the settlement problem. The design of raft foundation in this case study supports the entire building area which has the dimention of 36 m x 36 m x 2 m and 81 pieces of spun piles under the raft structure with the diameter of 0.8 m, length of 24 m, and space between the center of each pile of 4.3 m. The analysis result showed the load-permitting capacity of raft foundation by 723485.52 kN and load permitting capacity of group-pile by 104517.88 kN. The immediate settlement of raft-pile foundation is 50 mm < 100 mm.
