- The entire living things in this world definitely needs water to survive. Especially for humans, water is highly needed in a number of purposes such as households, agriculture, industry, and improving health status, therefore consider the quality and quantity. Currently, climbing mountains is very often done by young and old alike. The main requirement for climbers is drinking water. Mount Butak is one of the favorite mountains for climbers. This mountain has several water springs that can be used to meet the daily needs of climbers such as drinking, cooking and so on as well as spiritual media by several other climbers, but the quality standard of Mount Butak water springs quality is not yet known. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the quality of spring water in Mount Butak was in accordance with the requirements for drinking water quality of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health Regulation No. 492 of 2010. The approach and this type of research are descriptive quantitative, which describe the results of comparison of water quality data from laboratory test results with applicable quality standards and describe the results of research based on the study of literature used in this study. The samples used in this study are 2 Mount Butak water springs in the climbing route of Gadingkulon Village, Dau-Malang, located in the savanna desert area or in the strategic area (the water springs most frequently used by climbers) and water springs located in spiritual areas or non strategic areas (a water spring that is only used for religious or spiritual matters). The results of the study noted that the quality of source water (spring 1 and spring 2) in Mount Butak is in accordance with the requirements for drinking water quality of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health Regulation No. 492 of 2010. The results of this study can be used as a learning resource in the form of posters for High School/MA Grade X students.
