- This research was conducted in Tarakan City North Kalimantan, which is about the internal conflict of Islam in Tarakan City between the community and the Salafi religious groups, how is the resistance or rejection of the community against salafi groups, what are the causes, and how are the social impacts that occur as a result of this resistance, this research is analyzed using Ibhnu Khaldun conflict theory. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods, the subjects in this study were determined using perposive sampling techniques, data sources supported by books and journals relevant to the focus of the study, data collection techniques using observation techniques, in-depth interview techniques and also documentation, data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are that the community considers the Salafi group to be the most self-righteous group among other Islamic religious groups, likes to criticize the religious rituals of other groups to blame it, the appearance of a salafi group that is considered exclusive, and views the salafi as a group that is difficult to socialize, and forms forms of community resistance to salafi groups are negative stereotypes by labeling poor names for salafis such as Wahabis, terrorists and radicals, anti-salafi doctrine is also carried out by groups that are resistant, to social protests against salafi groups, and their impact what happened in the community as a result of this resistance was to strengthen the social solidarity of both groups who refused and were rejected, until the division of the Islamic Religion in Tarakan would be difficult to put together again.
