Daftar Isi:
- A36 steel is a type of plain carbon steel that is widely used in welding applications in the industrial and construction. Welding that is often used in A36 steel material is SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding). The welding process will affect the thermal cycles that cause distortion, residual stress and also the changing in mechanical properties in the welding process. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of in flame temperature on the distortion and mechanical properties of the SMAW results with A36 steel. The method used in this study is the Transient Temperature with variations in flame temperature of 250 oC, 350 oC and 450 oC. The best level of distortion using flame temperatures from these results it can be concluded that the higher the temperature given, the lower the value of the distortion that occurs. The highest average maximum tensile strength with a value of 406,265 Mpa was at a flame temperature of 250 oC, then at a flame temperature of 350 oC the maximum tensile strength was at 405,387 Mpa and finally in a variation of flame temperature 450 oC obtained an average maximum tensile strength 394,616 MPa. The highest hardness value367.32kg / mm2 is located in the welding area with a flame temperature of 350oC. The second highest hardness value312.09kg / mm2is located in the HAZ with a flame temperature of 450 oC and the last highest hardness value303.768 kg / mm2 is located in the parent metal region with a flame temperature of 250 oC.
