  • School readiness will help children in facing challenge and tasks at school. Each parent plays important role in helping their children to study at elementary school. All forms of interaction carried out will form a pattern of care and parenting will affect the readiness of schools in children. This research aimed to determine the relationship between parenting parents with school readiness in preschool children. This study used quantitative reaserch design correlations. The sampling technique in this research used quota sampling. The research subjects were 103 respondents with the criteria of parents of preschool children with a range of children aged 5-6 years. Measuring instruments used were School Readiness Questionaire and Parenting Style and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ). Data analysis method used was Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test. The results of this research indicated authoritative parenting had positive relation with school readiness in preschool children (r = 0.570; p<0.05), authoritarian had negative relation with school readiness in preschool children (r = -0,289; p < 0,05) and permissive parenting had negative relation with school readiness in preschool children (r = -0,360; p < 0,05). The conclusion of this study, there is correlation between authoritative, authoritarian parenting with school readiness.
