  • In fact, the grade IV students of SDN Sendangharjo 1 Follow the active and courageous teaching and answer questions, but when given the answer question is less precise and lazy. Students have difficulty in thematic learning consisting of several subjects because of the unavailability of thematic media. In addition there are no thematic media in the form of 2 dimensional and can be played by the students, so it is necessary to do development of media 2-dimensional media diorama of thematic plans. The study aims to analyse: (1) The feasibility of the Media snakes ladder Smart Thematic subtheme struggle the heroes in Grade IV Elementary School, and (2) The practicality of Diorama Media plan thematic subthemes struggle the heroes in Grade IV Elementary School. This research uses development research with the ADDIE model. The data sources in this research are the learning media experts, material experts, class teachers and grade IV students at SDN Sendangharjo 1 which amounted to 15 students. The research was conducted in September 2019. The results showed that (1) the feasibility of the snakes Media ladder thematic was obtained from the validation of media experts with a percentage score of 95% which expressed very decent and material expert validation with a percentage score of 85% which stated to be very decent, (2 ) Practicality of Snake Media, the thematic smart ladder obtained from the assessment of the student response poll with a percentage score of 93% which expressed the very practice of use and the evaluation of the response of the teacher with a score of 92% that expressed very practical use . The results of this study suggested that the snakes and ladders smart thematic Media are very viable and practical to implement in classroom learning. Further results of this study can be used to test effectiveness in the success of learning.
