English as a trend of globalization has helped people to communicate when they have different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. English as foreign language (EFL) learners, no matter how much they know about the English language still faces many difficulties in speaking. Many studies have shown that the development of spoken language has been rarely used in the class or outside. The aim of this research is to find out: (1) the speaking difficulties by third-semester students of ELED at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. &#xD; This research, the researcher used quantitative to analyze the data. The subjects of this research were third-semester students of English Language Education Department at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The questionnaire as instrument to obtain the data from the subjects.&#xD; The result of this research showed that there are five aspects on speaking difficulties faced by third-semester students of ELED at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. First, linguistic obstacles the researcher reveals that students felt weak in English language grammar 75.5% (M=3.89). 70.4% (M=3.81) difficult in constructing the sentence correctly in English. 72.4% (M=3.80) students got stuck with vocabularies. Then felt weak in correct pronunciation 33.7% (M=3.05). Second, speech processing difficulties found that 23.5% (M=2.67) felt weak in understanding concept of English. Students weak in constructing sentences 66.3% (M=3.70). Next, students hesitate in made mistake when speaking 75.5% (M=3.89). For attending the fluency and accuracy 53.1% (M=3.51). Third, academic conversational English skill 51.0% (M=3.48) felt difficult leading English class discussions. 49.0% (M=3.38) students difficult speech in English. Then, 34.7% (M=2.99). Students difficult participating in whole class discussion. 38.8% (M=2.42) students felt difficult in participating small class discussion. Then, 30.6% (M=2.86) students lack for confidence to speak English. Fourth, access to speaking opportunities 53.1% (M=3.40) students lack of English conversation at home. 19.4% (2.69) students lack for motivation to speak English. Then, 39.8% (M=3.20) students felt confused in speaking English. The last, negative effect 35.7% (M=2.84) students felt nervous when speaking English. 20.4% (M=2.41) students worried with grammar. For students anxiety in English language showed that 54.1% (M=3.29). Then, 69.4% (M=3.78) students difficult to the accent of English.
